From the outset Nick and our designated architect, Andrea Burton grasped our vision for the church and came up with an excellent design which was practical, sympathetic to the existing building but at the same time enhanced it. “We approached Alan Simcox of Nick Joyce Architects to look at alternative proposals for a Grade 2 Listed City Centre Hotel in Gloucester that the company owned and where the tenant had gone in to Administration. Planning consent was negotiated for change of use and partial redevelopment, but in the event a new hotel operator came forward to take a lease of the existing building subject to external refurbishment and overhaul to include a new frontage and internal layout at street level.
