Andrea’s architectural experience ranges from small domestic extensions, church repair and conservation, church re-ordering, and larger domestic projects including extensions, refurbishment and new build schemes, primarily within a historic and conservation context.
She particularly enjoys working on barn conversions, designing bespoke housing for individual clients, bespoke joinery design, and seeing a project through from the first imagined scheme to completion on site.
Andrea has been interested in architecture for as long as she can remember, having been inspired in childhood by a family friend who worked as an architect.
Andrea joined Nick Joyce straight after qualifying from Birmingham School of Architecture in 1993. Already having a particular interest in historic buildings she was able to indulge her passion for the subject, and working alongside Nick also sparked her interest in timber-framed buildings.
She then spent a few years with another practice that specialised in conservation, before returning to Nick Joyce in 1999, as a fully qualified architect. Andrea was incorporated into the partnership in 2004.
